Georgia STEM Day is a day for schools, educators, students, and companies to engage in activities involving science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). By celebrating Georgia STEM Day 2024, you help to raise awareness of the importance of STEM in our state. Thousands of people across Georgia will participate to celebrate Georgia STEM Day on March 1, 2024.

In this session participants will learn about the different tools that are used in research. Many of these tools are dependent on incredible technology to help aid in the collection of data. Researchers use this information to learn more about animal behaviors and how a changing environment may be influencing changes in behaviors.

10:00 - 10:45 a.m.Pink STEM & Partners - Exploring AI Careers
6th - 12th Grade

Join us for inspiring sessions tailored to increase awareness for women, girls, and minority students exploring AI careers. Led by Pink STEM founder, Dr. Tamika Head, our sessions will feature conversations with industry experts from Delta Airlines and a STEM Director spearheading a multi-million dollar initiative in Atlanta to enhance AI job opportunities for minorities in manufacturing. Additionally, we'll hear from a College Robotics Instructor and showcase a video presentation from Ga Tech and NASA. Concluding with a demonstration from local middle school students operating a robotic arm in our Pink STEM Robotics Lab, this immersive experience promises to empower and inspire. The presentation will teach the AI basics through fun, engaging experiences and chat prompts. We'll also show you AI powered job search strategies, resume assistance and interview prep.

11:30 - 12:30 p.m.STEM @ GTRI -  The Science of Small
3rd - 8th Grade



In this session, we'll explore the science of small with help of the SCOPE program. Using an electron microscope, we'll look at small objects in incredible detail -- and we'll see which class is the best at identifying our miniscule mysteries! We'll also learn how research on the nanoscale helps us improve technology, medicine, and more.

12:30 - 1:15 p.m.Zoo Atlanta - Amazing Animal Adaptions
Kindergarten - 12th Grade

Run, jump, crawl and climb - animals have amazing adaptions to move, hide, and survive!  On this live, virtual visit to Zoo Atlanta, you will observe animals in action and learn what makes them unique!  This program will engage participants from animal habitats around the Zoo, and will connect learners to STEM concepts as they learn about Zoo Atlanta’s animal ambassadors and conservation initiatives.
