Friday, February 23, 2024
Description
It's time to get hyped up for an exciting competition amongst the brightest young STEM minds in Gwinnett County! The Gwinnett Regional Science, Engineering + Innovation Fair will take place on Friday, February 23rd 2024 at Gas South Convention Center. The goal of the Science Fair is to showcase the amazing K-12 STEM talent in our schools, recognize top projects through awards and connect future science and engineering leaders with current STEM community leaders.
Interested in Presenting?
We need S.T.E.M. professionals to share their experiences in their careers and showcase their interesting projects and discoveries in their fields. We are focused on connecting students with the following areas of interest:
- Artificial Intelligence
- Computer Sciences
- Environmental Sciences
- Medical Related Information
- Sustainability Efforts
What to Expect: Breakout Sessions are held for students either before or after their judging session. Student groups are 40-80 students in a classroom setting (or outside if applicable and weather permitting). Sessions are approximately four 25-30 minutes workshops. Sessions are held 9 a.m. – 12noon or 12noon – 3 p.m.
Interested in Judging?
Judges will be assigned projects to judge based on area of expertise and volume of student projects by category. Judges will review student project presentation and interview students about their project. Scores will be submitted digitally, allowing for quantitative and qualitative feedback and evaluation. Judges can choose to participate in morning judging, afternoon judging or all day judging. We are thankful for you, our STEM community, and appreciate you considering lending your expertise to the next generation of STEM leaders!
Judging Time/Commitment:
High School: 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. (4 hrs)
Middle School: 12:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (3 hrs)
Judges also serve as ambassadors of their respective professions, judges will have the opportunity to provide insight and wisdom potentially influencing career choices for these future leaders. For many of these students, this will be the first encounter with science and engineering professionals.
