TAG's Data Science & AI Society Presents: "Creative Intelligence: AI in Design, Media, and Innovation"

Wednesday, March 18, 2026 (5:30 PM - 7:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

Artificial intelligence is redefining how creative work is imagined, designed, and delivered. What once felt experimental is now embedded in real-world workflows across film, digital media, product design, immersive environments, and interactive storytelling. AI tools are no longer novelties — they are becoming core collaborators, expanding the creative toolkit and enabling artists, designers, and technologists to prototype faster, explore broader idea spaces, and push beyond traditional constraints.

In the tech industry, designers are integrating AI directly into their daily workflows. From generative concept exploration and rapid interface prototyping to automated user research synthesis and AI-assisted design systems, creative teams are shifting from manual production to higher-leverage orchestration. Tools powered by generative models are helping designers iterate on visual directions in minutes instead of days, generate personalized experiences at scale, simulate user journeys, and translate ideas into functional prototypes with unprecedented speed. AI is also reshaping cross-functional collaboration — enabling designers, engineers, and product teams to work from shared intelligent systems that reduce friction and accelerate decision-making.

This session explores how creative professionals are embedding AI into design processes and content creation environments. Through practical examples and behind-the-scenes perspectives, the panel will highlight how AI accelerates ideation, enhances visual and narrative development, streamlines experimentation, and unlocks new creative possibilities. Attendees will gain insight into what is working today, how teams are navigating rapid change, and where AI delivers measurable impact.

Beyond the tools themselves, the conversation examines the evolving relationship between creativity and intelligent systems. As AI becomes integrated into artistic and product workflows, new opportunities emerge alongside important questions about authorship, originality, skill evolution, and the future role of designers in tech. Rather than replacing creativity, AI is shifting the designer’s role toward curation, systems thinking, and creative direction.

Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to engage with AI as a creative partner — and how to thoughtfully apply these approaches within their own work, whether in media, technology, product design, or innovation-led fields.
